3 Books for Beginner Minimalists

If you’re ready to take the leap into minimalism, you’ve probably asked yourself “where do I start". While ultimately, that answer is up to you, a good starting point can be with books by others who have been where you are right now.

Below you’ll find a couple of my personal favorites. These ebooks helped me along the journey. To save you from creating a new pile to minimize in the future, you can always listen to the audiobook or read the kindle version on a tablet or smartphone.

1 | Goodbye things by Fumio Saski

This book is definitely one of my favorites because of how honest and open the author is about his experience. He walks you through where he was and what led to them downsizing.

It almost feels like you’re reading someone’s diary in that he’s not trying to impress you or really anyone but explain his personal story.

If you’re looking for a good story that’s written by a normal guy, this is definitely the book to get you started.

2 | Minimalism Sucks

Minimalism is not a religion, it’s not a perfect science and it definitely isn’t something other people can judge you on. It’s what you make it.

That’s why this book is perfect jump off point for starting out. It’s straightforward, to the point and helps you get motivated

3 | The Year Of Less

This book spoke to me on a personal level due to the fact that I’m still trying to climb out of a ton of consumer debt and minimalism is the one thing that helped me start actually making a dent in everything.

It’s always intersting to look at life through another person’s eyes and Cait does this well in “The Year of Less”

These are my top 3 picks. There are a lot more books about minimalism that aren’t on my list but are always cool to check out. What are your favorite books on minimalism? I’d love to know in the comments below!
